I’m reading about the Kawasaki FJ180V surge, I have a brand new machine, straight out the box, it too surges during load, it idles beautifully.. it will really surge at full throttle, but if I back it off to about 3/4, it surges very little.. Every thing I ever had that was surging was repaired by carb cleaning/adjustment. Generally if it surges at high throttle it wont idle. Get it to idle good at lowest throttle first and you are well on your way. Then adjust the high speed jet at wide open throttle. Careful not to over rev.
