I know Honda had a lot of problems until about 2006/2007 with transmissions. Not directly related but my dad has a 2002 Odyssey which, despite the infrequent fluid changes, is still going on the original transmission. It requires that the valve body be changed out with an updated model and the tcm be reprogrammed.Jun 1, 2017 · Changing the trans fluid is maintenance. It's no different than changing the engine oil. Looks like Honda may have some CVT failures down the road. If I was buying a 9th gen Accord, it'd be either a 6MT or the V6 with a regular trans. I wouldn't want to be a Honda CVT guinea pig. .
