If for whatever reason it doesn't, respec. if you picked paladin level 1 then you will hve heavy armour proficiency. you either messed up and forgot or it bugged. just respec and it will fix. If you start as warlock, multi class into paladin does not give you heavy armour. I'm also aware that by doing this Heavy Armor + Heavy Armor Mastery Pact + Armor of Agathys Pact of the Blade build I'm missing out on other opportunities, like the Lifedrinker invocation from a Pure Warlock Gish, which offers a late game damage boost. But this build [GISH focused on damage reflection] felt cool to me.
